Early-tester builds
For early testers only. Retirement Preflight is not generally released yet. The builds on this page are early versions for people who have agreed to try the app and tell us how it went. Expect rough edges. Finding them is the point of this stage, and we would rather hear about them from you than leave them in the release.
Version 2026.1.0
Both builds carry the 2026 tax year. The macOS build is a universal binary, so it runs natively on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
Windows and macOS may warn you the first time you open the app. The installing notes explain what you will see and how to get past it.
A free license for testers
The app is free to use without a license: every input, the full engine, the optimizer, saving and printing. A license adds the ability to open a saved plan again (see pricing). For early testing we will give you a license key for free, in exchange for two commitments:
- Use it. Build at least one real plan, ideally your own household's, and try the parts that matter to you.
- Tell us how it went. Email a report about your experience to support@preflightretirement.com: what worked, what confused you, what looked wrong, and anything that broke.
How to get your key
Send a short email to support@preflightretirement.com asking for a tester license, and tell us whether you are on Windows or macOS. A line or two is enough. We will reply with your license key.
What makes a useful report
- Your operating system and version, and the app version (2026.1.0).
- What you were trying to do, what you expected, and what happened instead.
- Screenshots help. Describe your situation in general terms rather than exact figures.
Please do not send your plan file unless we ask for it. It holds your financial details, and we would rather not hold them.
United States only. Retirement Preflight models US federal and state tax law and US retirement and health programs, and nothing else. It gives meaningful results only for a household that files US taxes.
